Dear Fellow Esteemed Coach and ICF Member

Happy holidays and happy 2020!

It is with profound gratitude that I write to you.  I am honored to have served as ICF UAE President for the past two years.  Leading the Chapter has changed me both personally and professionally and I am so proud to see how we have evolved and grown during that time.

We now have a total of 328 members and an increasing number of credentials coaches, in fact, around 50% of our member base; we have five 5 MCC, 63 PCC and 100 ACC.

In 2019, I would like to acknowledge my fellow Board Members and our volunteer coaches for our many first-time Chapter achievements in raising the profile of the ICF brand to the local and global business communities. These activities are a first for the Middle-East and have been commended at a global level. I would like to personally thank all of you who helped to deliver over 150 coaching sessions at the ICF Coaching Hub at HRSE 2019. We also delivered a certified workshop and held a seminar to paying delegates. If you haven’t already, please read the Show Report on our blog at coachfederation.ae.

We also participated in the DAC Conference 2019 in December where the Board and volunteers represented the Chapter and engaged with senior leaders from the international association community. We were invited to speak on a panel about our methods in improving the effectivity of our Chapter management. In addition, due to these two highly attended events, we were invited to deliver a key speech at the MCI Annual Conference.

The new year will mark a new decade and some major developments to the ICF at a global level:

  1. In January 2020, the International Coach Federation will become the International Coaching Federation.
  2. The Code of Ethics has been updated with the new Code coming into immediate effect in January 2020. You can download the new Code from org/icf-ethics
  3. The Core Competencies model has been revised to become more succinct, more streamlined and cohesive with certain concepts enhanced. The new model will come into full effect in January 2021. Start becoming familiar with the changes now to be fully effective in your practice. Full details are available along with webinars and broadcasts on coachfederation.org/core-competencies.
  4. The Mentor coach verification process has been updated. As part of the application process for renewal of credentialing, a new system is being applied where a notification will be automatically sent to your mentor coach to verify.

Leading the Chapter in the new year, will be Rania Laing as President and Lina El-Assaad as Vice-President. Fanika Nikic will continue her service taking on the role of Director of Community and I shall continue to support the Board as Past-President in the capacity of mentor and advisor. Sadly, we say goodbye to Ute Hamdani, Director of Knowledge; Dina Faidi, Director of Community; and Suhair Fakhoury, Director and Abu Dhabi Sub-Chapter Leader.

I am delighted to announce the new Board for 2020. Please join me in welcoming new Board Members, Barbara Stickland as Director of Finance and Administration; Maysaa Khalil as Director of Events; Claudia Halbi as Director of Sponsorships and Partnerships; Nieves Fuentes as Director of Marketing; and Dennis Kight as Director of Knowledge.

Please stay connected, contribute to the blog and learn more about the chapter events, updates and volunteer opportunities by visiting coachfederation.ae.

I would like to thank you, once again, for your continued support.

Wishing you a happy and prosperous new year!

Yours sincerely

Nehad Tadros, MCC
